¡¡¡¡The result of ¡°Annual Human Resources Awards in Greater China 2007-2008¡± sponsored by HR Management World and World Management Review was unveiled at the Chang¡¯an Hall, 3rd Floor of Pujiang Building, Shangri-La Shanghai on January 11, 2008. 10 HR managers and 13 institutions winning the prize witnessed this important moment together. Tang Qiuyong, editor-in-chief of World Management Review, delivered the opening address. Zhang Xucheng, director of the China region and executive vice chairman of International Training & Development Association acted as the awarding guest. ¡¡¡¡Annual Human Resources Awards in Greater China is the biggest, and most authoritative and conspicuous HR appraisal in greater China region with the highest level. University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business in China participated in the survey and EMLYON Business School, Business School Nanyang Technological University, and International Training & Development Association provided academic support to the three-month-long appraisal. The expert team consisting of 16 experts from six countries participated in the assessment. Two prizes, namely, Best HR Manager in Greater China 2007-2008 and Best HR Service Providers in Greater China 2007-2008, are offered in this appraisal.

¡¡¡¡On the roundtable forum after the awarding ceremony, Mr. James Bao , president of Vanguard Technology, shared views on the topic of ¡°How to Attract and Retain Talents Under the Framework of New Labor Contract Law¡± together with Mr. Wang Hongsheng, chief advisor of DDI China Region, Mr. Ling Zhenwen, deputy president of the HR Department of Astrazeneca and Mr. Li Jinquan, deputy president and HR director of Sony China. Mr. James Bao mentioned that what employers provides to the employees shall be good development room other than money because the faster and better development of an enterprise depends on the growth of employees. On the aspect of dimission-related regulations in the new law, James Bao thought that it¡¯s already too late when an employer retains outstanding employees through a face-to-face talk; by using the HR system and Appraisal management, employers will be able to learn what the employees are thinking, communicate with employees timely if problems are detected to avoid possible talent loss from the source and in the process.
