2008 Performance & HR Management Forum held in Shanghai

¡¡¡¡June 13, 2008£¬Shanghai ¨C The 2008 Performance & HR Management Forum was cooperatively held in Shanghai by Zongze Media, HRoot.com and Vanguard Technology. More than 150 executives and HR managers from both national and international enterprises, such as Shanghai Telecom, Greenland Group, Fosun Group, Fotile (Ningbo), Homeinns Hotel, Sony, Ford, Citibank and DHL, attended the forum.

¡¡At the forum, Sun Honghai, director of the internationally famous consulting company Mercer College in greater China region, presented his views on the value and methods of high performance coaching. He said that, coaching was one method for management, one method for communication, one method for thinking and one method for existence. The word ¡°Coaching¡± was mentioned as frequently as the words ¡°leader¡± and ¡°profit¡± in a company. This reflected the importance of coaching ability and the demand of the company for coaching. However, many companies had to go a far way in this aspect. The study of Mercer Consulting indicated that, only 26% of staff admitted that they had received timely and helpful coaching and feedback from their directors. The survey of SHRM indicated that only 33% of directors having received trainings for coaching and feedback.

¡¡¡¡After that, Zhang Jiyuan, deputy general manager of HR Department of China Securities Co., Ltd shared the cases on excellent performance management with other attendees. He introduced the company¡¯s experience in construction of performance management system and in operation, and gave his own ideas on this topic. Performance management should not only be the task of the HR department and should be integral to the whole management of the company. Performance management couldn¡¯t exist independently, and it should be put into a good system and cultural environment. The promotion from the management should be the most important one in all the elements. Without the promotion, performance would never be managed well. Meanwhile, the construction of information-based performance management on the platform of eHR-soft2000 of Vanguard Technology made by China Securities Co., Ltd was also given as a benchmark case for information-base HR management in the financial industry.

¡¡Finally, on base of his experience in project consultation, Fu Yitong, sales director of WebEx Communications, Inc.(China), gave his suggest on how to maximize the training effectiveness under limited budget by using online training and support.
